Carson + Meghan
Carson + Meghan : Married at last.
Carson and Meghan made a decision. After being engaged for ‘what seems like forever’, these two decided to throw caution to the wind. They were ready to be married and weren’t interested in the all-too-typical year-plus of planning that goes into the traditionally planned full scale wedding day. Have you ever felt that way? Just ready to jump in- feet first- and get started? So, they did! They booked a weekend at the beautiful Cotton Mansion in Duluth, MN and spent a few days exploring the North Shore together.
There’s a special intimacy to elopements… this palpable energy in the room that vibrates through your being. It’s the two of you together- with every chance to stay or run but choosing to make the jump all on your own. It’s a scary, intimidating, threatening and beautiful joint agreement. There’s a vulnerability that is exposed when you commit openly to another person. While I feel this every time I attend a ceremony, big or small, there’s this real feeling of inclusion when I get to photograph an elopement. Eloping is all about the two of you (you dynamic duo, you!) in the thick and thin together. That, my friends, is what marriage truly is- choosing to put another person’s life on the same level as your own, taking chances, and making decisions for your lives together. Raw, unencumbered, and beautiful. So here’s to love- the privately shared love and the shouted from the mountaintops love. It doesn’t get much better…
